All,
I had a conversation with a sailor sailing in the Keys event last night (01 Dec). There seems to be a thought that rules enforcement, aka "the room", should be frowned upon and just let the banging and beating of the boats continue as people "learn". This has to stop! Part of the "learning process" is staying out of the room or if you foul someone, do your penalty turn according to the rules. The "bumper boat" fleet, as it is affectionately called from within other multihull classes, has to clean up it's act. That begins with some basic knowledge of the rules. To allow this to continue, IMHO, is not good for anyone involved. Maybe it's time to have an "A" and "B" fleets? Still, you must abide by the rules! Let's start 2024 on the right track.
